Prey Captured--Benq W500 added to Recommended Projectors

Benq W500 is a 720p LCD comparable to the Epson 400 and Sanyo z5.  What sets this projector apart is it's internal Silicon Optix HQV scalar/deinterlacer. It will upscale 480i to 720p incredibly well.  This projector also accepts 1080p/24hz which is the native signal of HD-DVD and Blue-ray. It will then downscale 1080p to 720p.  24hz is the speed at which the film is captured by the camera so the image will be very smooth in a panning scene with a lot of camera motion. See the Digital Projector Buying Guide for related links.

Prey of the Day- Geforce 7600GT AGP $107

This 7600 GT is a great value for those who still have an AGP system. It's not as fast as the ATI 1950 Pro, but it's half the price. See my video card post below for more details

Prey of the Day- Navman F20 GPS

  • Navman F20 GPS refurbished for $158 shipped. I just bought this GPS as I needed an really inexpensive one that worked well. I will post a review after a few weeks of use. The main knock on this GPS is that its point of interest locations are out of date, but I wanted it mainly for directions. It also has buttons that directs you to the closest gas station or parking lot. Cnet Review PC Magazine Review

Prey of the Day-Toshiba HD-A1

  • Decided to add a new feature to the blog. Prey of the Day will highlight one great tech deal per day. Techbargains is a great place which I look for deals and I found this great deal on an HD-DVD player earlier today. The HDA1 is a little slow to start up, but if that does not bother you it gives you a great picture. It upconverts regulard DVDs too.
