Infocus 7210 $1000

Woot has a secret deal on the Infocus 7210 for $1000 which is a $100 less than the last time it went up. This is a fabulous price for a 720p DarkChip3 projector. See my last post on the 7210 for reviews. Hat tip to MurphyAgain from the AVS forums for the tip.

Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD Player Drops Below $200

A few reputable on-line stores have dropped the price on the 720p/1080i Toshiba HD-A2 to under $200. See here and here . Probably clearing out stock for the new HD-A3. If you have a 720p set or a 1080p set witha good deinerlacer, this is a bargain. Will prices drop even more as the holiday season approaches or will inventory sell out quickly and the deal will end? Your guess is as good as mine, but it seems clear the price wars are just heating up. I am format neutral, but Blue-ray player prices are just way too high and for that reason alone I hope it fails and HD-DVD wins.

Refurb Marantz VP12S4 $2000 w/ 1 Year Warranty

This is probably the best 720p single chip DLP projector ever made. Sure you can get 1080p for $500 more, but it wont have the optics, or video processing ability of this projector. Review. Another review

Infocus 7210 for $1100 at Woot.com 10/4/07 only

Woot.com has the high end 720p Infocus 7210 for only $1100. A year ago this was selling for $3500. If you are looking for a projector at this price point, you can't beat the 7210. Reviews here, here, here and here. Downside is it's a bit noisy.
