Prey Captured: 720p Plasma TVs $1400-2200

• The Pioneer PDP-5070HD is universally regarded as the best 720p 50" DLP. It has the depest blacks, best color reproduction and video processing of any DLP in it's price range.

• A very close second is the Pannasonic 50px600u which costs about $800 less, but doesnt have quite as good video processing.  If you have a good upscaling DVD player and feed it a progressive cable/satellite signal, however, this should not be a problem and save you  a good amount of money. Update: Tigerdirect now has this mode for $1400! making it a fantastic deal compared to the slightly better Pioneer.

• Panasonic also makes an all black "professional version" that allows you to pick and choose extra DVI/HDMI slots for a cost.
