Optoma HD32 (HD70 Clone) $699 + Free 92" screen

Circuit City has the Optoma HD32 which is an exact clone of the HD70 that was previously only sold in Canada for $699. If you are a AAA member you can get another 10% off by asking AAA to email you a coupon. The Free screen is also worth at least $100. I own an HD70 and enjoy it a lot.

Infocus 7210 $1000

Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD Player Drops Below $200

A few reputable on-line stores have dropped the price on the 720p/1080i Toshiba HD-A2 to under $200. See here and here . Probably clearing out stock for the new HD-A3. If you have a 720p set or a 1080p set witha good deinerlacer, this is a bargain. Will prices drop even more as the holiday season approaches or will inventory sell out quickly and the deal will end? Your guess is as good as mine, but it seems clear the price wars are just heating up. I am format neutral, but Blue-ray player prices are just way too high and for that reason alone I hope it fails and HD-DVD wins.
